I was inspired to play with scrap fabric and dense line work to explore new shapes with these quilts. Each piece is handmade and one of a kind.

Intro to Modern Quilting @ WCC
If you've always wanted to try quilting, this class is the place to start! Using one of my original designs, I will guide you through measuring and cutting, piecing, basting, quilting, and binding. Learn what makes a quilt "modern," color and pattern selection, and helpful tips for creating your own original quilts. By course end, you'll have assembled a simple quilt top, basted your quilt, and have the skills to add the finishing touches. Bring your sewing machine to class and visit whatcomcommunityed.com to enroll. Prerequisite: basic sewing skills and working knowledge of your sewing machine.
Fall 2018: This class takes place during two sessions. Mondays, Oct. 29 & Nov. 5. 6-9p.m.

I'm so excited to participate in the first York Yard Crawl! I will be set up in the yard with Quilts and lots of handmade gifts and household items. Please come on over and enjoy the beautiful day with me.
The York Yard Crawl is a neighborhood-wide art walk/yard sale/music festival in Bellingham's finest neighborhood. The whole neighborhood will be showing their art, selling their stuff, playing their songs, and enjoying some neighborfriend fun time in their own yards.

Big walls & high ceilings, means big quilts! I am excited to hang a series of new quilts alongside new photography by fellow artists, William A Canepa. "Everyone is a Photographer", a selection of never before seen or digitized film photography prints.
Photography prints by Patrick Beggan will also be upstairs.

The Holiday Festival of the Arts is a five-week-long indoor arts festival featuring 100 artisans from our region. Aside from vendors selling their wares, the festival boasts live music and art workshops for children on the weekends.
The twofold purpose of the Holiday Festival is to encourage and support the creation and sale of locally produced fine art and crafts while providing an opportunity to connect artists and craftspeople with the general public. This juried festival pursues top quality original arts and crafts and seeks excellence in presentation. Festival proceeds support the visual arts in the region through Allied Arts of Whatcom County’s general and educational programs, community outreach, arts events, gallery shows, and artist resources.

MAKE.SHIFT AUGUST ART WALK: STAY GOLD
An invitational group art show, inspired by Little Golden Books
In the Make.Shift Gallery during the months of August and September, a group of artists created original works inspired by the beloved childhood literary staple, the Little Golden Books series. This exhibit is the brain child of beloved local artist, Steeb Russell, who invited over 15 artists of various mediums to join in his celebration of the classic books that have been inspiring children for decades.
Please join us for the opening reception as part of Bellingham’s art walk first friday in August (8/5). The studios of Make.Shift’s resident artist will also be open as usual. The exhibit runs August 2nd – September 24th and is open to the public during normal gallery hours, Tuesday-Saturday 12-5 PM.
